What’s On Your Mind?

exocrefloAs you have gone about your normal, daily routine today, what have you been thinking about? Are your thoughts on something that’s supposed to take place later this week, as opposed to what you have going on today? Are you anxious, worried, or fretting about something that’s days or even weeks away? If so, your thinking is out of control, or intoxicated. Intoxicated thinking is thinking that doesn’t line up with God’s Word, God’s heart, or God’s way.

The Bible declares in Luke 10:19 (AMP) “Behold! I have given you authority and power to trample upon serpents and scorpions, and [physical and mental strength and ability] over all the power that the enemy [possesses]; and nothing shall in any way harm you.

God has given us power and authority over all the power of the enemy, i.e., the devil. My question is, what power does the devil possess? The devil has the ability to affect your
mental state of mind. The most powerful weapon of the devil is suggestion.

Revelation 12:10 says Satan is the accuser of brethren. He pummels away at your thinking day and night. If your mind is not lined up with God’s Word, you’ll begin to give attention to the devil’s lying suggestions. His ultimate objective is to stop you from receiving the finished works of Jesus Christ.

Most of the time, when we pray about certain things, Jesus has already finished those things. He’s already done it. He said on the cross, “It is finished” (John 19:30). Take healing for example; healing is a part of the finished works of Christ. So when you hear a suggestion from the devil that says you can’t be healed, you need to cast that thought down. Healing has already been done! Jesus didn’t provide healing the day you got sick; Jesus already had healing in place before you got sick. You have to realize who you are in Christ, and what you already have a right to, so you’ll know how to fight. You have to reach out and take possession of what you already have. You must acknowledge the truth, the actual reality of the finished works of Jesus Christ.

Some Christian people wake up every day afraid that something’s going to hurt them or their loved ones. They sit around all day meditating on the lies and tricks of the devil instead of meditating on what God’s Word says. The enemy will say, “Look at where you are right now. This disease is going to hurt you, probably even kill you.” If he convinces you that you’re stuck in that situation, you’re going to supply the nutrition that is needed to cause something that wasn’t even in existence to come to pass.

You cannot allow the devil’s suggestions to cause you to look at your present circumstances. If you do, it will add weight to the suggestion. You have to cut it short right away! Set your mind and keep it set on God’s Word, just like you set an alarm clock. Think about what you’re thinking about! You must become consciously aware of when your thinking is not in line with God’s Word, and immediately bring it into subjection to the Word.

We are not the generation that will be moved by what it looks like! We’re only moved by the Word of God, and His Word declares that we win, not some of the time but all the time!
“For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world” (Hebrews 4:3).

There’s a reason why certain things fail to manifest in our lives. When your mind doesn’t line up with God’s Word, it hinders you from receiving all that Jesus has provided. In my eye-opening seriesThinking God’s Way, I teach you how to set your mind and keep it set on God’s promises in order to receive all the finished works of Jesus Christ!
