All along our days, our prayers, our songs, we confess that God is able to do all things.
But do we really believe in that Word ?
When we read the battle of David and Goliath, we realize that the young David, who did not had at this time the age to fight with the army, did have a strong faith or confidence in the ability of God to liberate His people. David was shocked to see that the Philistine name Goliath, a giant, was making fun of the people chosen by the Lord.
The army of Israel knew that God would be on their side in their fight, but they did not believe in God’s ability to deliver them from this giant. (1 Samuel 17: 21,24)
Today, the same story of David and Goliath is repeated in the lives of most children of God. We like to confess, to sing the ability of the Lord our God, but when adversity comes and arises, our first reaction is to let fear, doubt, to invade us with all consequences we may know.
Our behavior clearly shows that we do not believe that God is able to deliver us In case of adversity, to blessing us in times of drought, to heal us in case of sickness, … but God is able to do all these things.
David before Goliath, gives us an example, showing us exactly what we need to do when problems comes: We must face it.
If we do not confront the problems that come to us, we will not win, it will be impossible to us to know how to get out of this victorious. When we do not face adversity, adversity will face us and then later may come victorious over us, it is the same thing that happened with Goliath.
But If you read carefully the Bible you will see that Goliath was boasting the people of God with his words without making any move, did he was afraid of the people of Israel too? Good question. (1 Samuel 17: 8); But Israel did nothing.
But when David confronted him, Goliath did not have the ability to overcome the young man.
When you face your adversity, you must proclaim that it will fall like Goliath, your battle must lead you to your victory, but you must have a complete trust in God that He have given you the victory even before you have do your battle. (1 Samuel 17:41-51)
Did your God did not say to you: I have given you authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall hurt you (Luke 10:19)
God bless you
